True Identity

Last week I wrote a short score for the 10 minute drama film "True Identity". The story's about a guy with a multiple personality disorder, and the film explores his good and bad side.

The directors' wanted an emotional score much like Thomas Newman's music for 'American Beauty' and 'The Green Mile'.

Very lightly scored with piano, a touch of strings and some synth pads, the music turned out quite ambient. I got to try out my EWQL Pianos on this score, they're incredibly realistic, I'm so glad I bought them!

I had to work through the night to get this one done as it was one of those 24 hour deadlines, but it didn't require much in the way of music and the score turned out really well. I enjoyed using just a select few instruments for a change and creating more of a soundscape.

You can hear a cue from the film on my myspace page at:

Thanks to Sarah Roberts and Saeid Shepard Samimi for the opportunity!

I also upgraded all of my East West libraries last weekend so I can't wait to put them to good use in my upcoming projects.
